Capital Region Youth Learn Digital Media Skills at Youth FX

Youth FX teaches the technical and creative aspects of digital film making and the production process from script to screen. It works with diverse groups of young people from communities of color that have been historically under-served and excluded from emerging media technologies.

A grant from the Foundation supported youth engagement and training programs offered by Youth FX. Participants in these programs develop technical proficiency in digital media by learning cinematography, sound recording and mixing, video editing and additional production techniques. In addition, students develop an understanding of film as an art form and develop a greater understanding of visual aesthetics for creative expression, visual continuity and storytelling purposes.
